From 2012 to 2019, Bradford was engaged by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to develop and manage the Construction Mentorship Program (CMP) for certified Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs). The program’s mission was to help these firms adopt effective business practices, enabling them to pursue larger and more complex construction projects across New York City.

Bradford worked with MWBEs pre-screened by SBS or pre-qualified by participating City agencies, including the NYC Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC), NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA), NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), and NYC Department of Parks & Recreation (NYCDPR). Our team provided comprehensive mentorship services to hundreds of small firms, including recruitment, initial business assessments, one-on-one mentoring, and ongoing support.

The program achieved measurable success, earning consistently positive feedback from both participants and SBS. The original contract was subsequently extended for an additional three years, underscoring the program’s impact and the value of Bradford’s expertise in fostering MWBE growth in the NYC construction industry.
