The Bahá’í International Community (BIC) is an international non-governmental organization at the United Nations, representing the Bahá’í Faith in over 180 countries and territories. Velocity designed a complete space planning and renovation solution for the BIC offices, leveraging the office tower’s ground-level access and expansive inner courtyard to maximize natural light in gathering areas and breakout conference rooms. Open-plan workspaces and private offices were strategically positioned to optimize daylighting and street views.

The 14,000 SF office, including a mezzanine level, underwent a full gut renovation encompassing reception areas, offices, conference rooms, and all mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm systems. The design fosters a flexible, collaborative environment for United Nations representatives engaged in global initiatives. Velocity worked closely with stakeholders to develop multiple layout options, evaluating adjacencies, circulation, and furniture requirements to ensure efficient, functional, and inviting spaces. IT and audiovisual systems were seamlessly integrated throughout the office to support modern work and conference needs.
