This capital improvement project represents a comprehensive building electrification effort, replacing aging, fossil fuel-based mechanical systems with modern, high-efficiency, all-electric solutions. The project enhances energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and improves the health, safety, and comfort of building occupants. As a strategic investment in the future, socially, economically, and environmentally, it demonstrates how thoughtful engineering can deliver meaningful, scalable impact. Velocity served as the prime Architect of Record and Engineer of Record for the design.
The project involved a phased, coordinated modernization of this multi-use public building. Traditional HVAC systems were replaced with all-electric, high-efficiency heat pumps serving classrooms, offices, and public assembly areas. These systems provide precise, zone-specific temperature control while supplying filtered, fresh air throughout the facility, improving indoor environmental quality and enhancing operational resilience.
