Velocity completed a comprehensive upgrade of the school’s 2,250-seat auditorium, transforming it into a state-of-the-art performance venue. The renovations included the installation of full air conditioning throughout the auditorium, stage, and backstage areas, as well as new sound systems, theatrical lighting, catwalks, and a fire curtain.

Prior to construction, the auditorium suffered from inadequate ventilation and poor acoustics. Velocity designed a high-performance air conditioning system utilizing exposed and insulated oval ductwork integrated into suspended acoustical ceiling panels and wall-mounted perforated panels. This approach significantly reduces ambient noise and optimizes sound reverberation for performances.

To further enhance acoustic performance, the team conducted a detailed system analysis and implemented architectural acoustic treatments, including suspended acoustical panels at the ceiling level and perforated wood paneling along existing concrete block walls. Additional scope items included replacing all seating, modifying the main hall’s concrete slab to meet ADA standards, and installing an ADA-compliant lift to provide accessible stage access.
